Questions for December's Book Club Contest - "The Death and Life of Great American Cities"

This contest has since ended; answers to questions are listed below.  Thank you for your interest, and please feel free to check out our January 2017 Book Club selection and contest questions.

Congrats to Amanda Leahy - December's Book Club contest winner!

For the December 2016 Book Club selection, TransportiCA has chosen The Death and Life of Great American Cities, by the incredible Jane Jacobs.

With every month's selection, TransportiCA provides three questions based-upon the reading.  If you send us all three correct responses by the end of the month, and your name is drawn, you will win a copy of the book.

For December, we will actually send the winner a set of other notable publications - pictured below, in addition to Death and Life.

The contest questions for this month's selection are:

1. According to Jacobs, Death and Life was meant to be an attack on what?  Current city planning and rebuilding.

2. At the time of publication, Jacobs wrote about the myth that what amount of money spent could wipe away all slums within ten years?  $100,000,000,000.

3. What area in Boston is referenced by Jacobs as the city's worst slum and civic shame?  The North End.

To send-in your responses, submit via TransportiCA's "Contact Form" on the front-page (bottom left), sending your name, email address and answers.
The deadline for submission is Saturday, 31 December 2016 at 23:59.

Thank you for your interest in the Book Club, and best of luck with the contest!
