This contest has since ended; answers to questions are listed below. Thank you for your interest, and please feel free to check out our December 2016 Book Club selection and contest questions.
Congrats to Amanda Leahy and Sarah Vela - November's Book Club contest winners!
With every month's Book Club selection, TransportiCA provides three questions based-upon the reading. If you send us all three correct responses by the end of the month, and your name is drawn, you will win a copy of the book, personally signed by the author(s).
For the November Book Club selection, TransportiCA has chosen Low Car(bon) Communities: Inspiring car-free and car-lite urban futures, by authors Nicole Foletta and Jason Henderson, Ph.D.
Currently Principal Planner for the San Francisco Bay-Area Rapid Transit District, Foletta has also held positions with Fehr & Peers, ITDP Europe and Nelson/Nygaard, in addition to being a Fulbright Scholar for the Centro de Innovación del Transporte (Barcelona). Besides being a San Francisco State University Geography & Environment professor and expert in San Francisco's MUNI system, Dr. Henderson is also author of the best-selling and seminal publication, Street Fight: The Politics of Mobility in San Francisco.

3. In the late 1990s, San Francisco citizens voted consecutively how many times regarding the potential removal of the Central Freeway? Three - 1997, 1998 and 1999.
