-OCTOBER SELECTION CONTEST WINNER-
A huge congratulations goes to Mike Christensen of Salt Lake City; he answered all three contest questions correctly - see below. Mike is pursuing a Masters in City and Metropolitan Planning at the University of Utah. For the October 2016 Book Club selection, TransportiCA chose Streetfight: Handbook for an Urban Revolution, by bestselling authors Janette Sadik-Khan and Seth Solomonow.
The contest questions for this month's selection are:
1. The operating code is the underlying language that is given meaning when street design intersects with people. (p.1)
2. True or false: Cities have never been cradles of culture, technology, and commerce, where history’s most luminous mind and civilizations converged. (p.2)
3. According to sensationalists New York tabloids, what street’s bike lane became the most controversial slab of concrete outside the Gaza Strip? Prospect Park West (p.8)
Again, congrats to Mike, and we wish him all the best in his reading and continued education of sustainable transportation!
