LACBC: Events, Meetings, & Volunteer Opportunities (Aug 2016)

















5th Annual Clitoral Mass
When: Saturday, August 6. Festivities start at 9 a.m. and ride begins at 11 a.m.
Where: Lou Costello Park - 3141 E Olympic Blvd, Boyle Heights, 90023
The Ovarian Psycos host the 5th Annual Clitoral Mass bike ride. Clitoral Mass represents solidarity between womxn, queer, femme, trans, gender non-conforming, and two-spirited individuals from different walks of life to promote solidarity in bicycling, encourage safety, health in our communities, and taking back the night. See Facebook event.

Sunday Funday Ride with Just Ride LA
When: Sunday, August 7. Meet at 9:30 a.m. Ride at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Meet at Just Ride LA - 1626 S Hill St, 90015
We're excited to work with our friends over at Just Ride LA as they kick off their monthly tours with August's Sunday Funday ride! Riders will meet at Just Ride LA. Route details to be announced shortly. More info.

Grand Performances: Disco Manilla
with LACBC Bike Valet sponsored by AARP
When: Saturday, August 13, 8 p.m. Bike valet opens at 7 p.m.
Where: California Plaza - 300 & 350 S. Grand Ave. Bike valet located on the upper plaza on Grand.
Spend your summer evening at Grand Performances, and enjoy complimentary bike valet at select performances, sponsored by AARP. More info.

CicLAvia - Iconic Wilshire Blvd
When: Sunday, August 14, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Wilshire Blvd - Downtown L.A., Westlake, Koreatown
CicLAvia heads back to Iconic Wilshire Boulevard on August 14 as Koreatown, Westlake, and Downtown Los Angeles will host the country’s largest open streets event! Streets will be closed to cars and open for cyclists, pedestrians, runners, and skaters to use as a recreational space. Find LACBC along the route. More info.

Tour de Laemmle - Rescheduled for August 21
When: Sunday, August 21. Start at 7 a.m.
Where: Start at Laemmle Monica Film Center -1332 2nd Street, Santa Monica
Due to the poor air quality this weekend, Tour de Laemmle had to be postponed. Now set for August 21st, the 3rd Annual Tour de Laemmle is a free, 130-mile bicycle ride looping around Los Angeles with stops at all nine Laemmle locations. The ride starts at the Monica Film Center in Santa Monica at 7 a.m., but riders are free to join the group at several points along the route.
