Please join us at the 6th Annual Bike Silicon Valley Summit, the region’s largest gathering of active transportation leaders and organizers from government, law enforcement, non-profit, and the public.
We are excited to focus on the following issues:
• Keynote speaker: Kate White, Deputy Secretary for Environmental Policy and Housing Coordination, California State Transportation Agency
• California statewide updated regulations and laws impacting bicycling: Class IV protected bikeway guidance; Design flexibility; CEQA updates
• Local examples of protected bike lanes and protected intersections
• How improved designs can enhance the appeal of bike facilities to a diverse population
• Update on Vision Zero in Silicon Valley: how are cities implementing?
• How to create “quick build” “pop-up” bike and pedestrian demo projects
For the first time, we are also holding nominations for several awards:
  • Public Official of the Year – is there a city staff person whose efforts go above and beyond to ensure safe and comfortable bicycling? Maybe an elected official has stood up for people biking or a county staff person has really pushed things forward?
  • Infrastructure Project of the Year – bike lane (buffered, green, or protected), bike bridge, bike boulevard, bike box, etc.
  • Non-infrastructure Project of the Year – education and encouragement plans that shift the needle to get more people on bikes
$35 admission includes a light breakfast and lunch, plus post event social hour. Scholarships are available for those to whom the cost of admission is prohibitive; please contact to apply.
SVBC will be leading a BikePool from Mountain View Caltrain station at approximately 9:10 am. Northbound and southbound trains arrive at Mountain View Caltrain at approximately 9 am (with additional trains arriving before 9 am – See full Caltrain schedule here). The ride will be moderately paced and take approximately 15 minutes on the Stevens Creek Trail. Bicycle valet will be available at the venue. You can also see information about other transportation options.
