We’ve got you covered – 6 Amtrak Pacific Surfliners® will stop at all 8 COASTER stations, daily.*
The three northbound trains will leave San Diego’s Santa Fe Depot at 8:24 a.m.10:42 a.m., and 9:00 p.m.
The three southbound trains will leave Oceanside Transit Center at 7:03 p.m.9:19 p.m., and 11:53 p.m.

No additional charge to ride these trains. All valid COASTER fare media will be accepted on board these select Pacific Surfliners.
NOTE: During baseball season, for Padres games starting at 5:40 pm (April 25, May 16, July 18, July 25, August 8, August 22, September 5, and September, September 26), please note that Amtrak 595, a Rail 2 Rail train departing Santa Fe Depot at 9:00 pm, may not be able to board all COASTER ticket holders due to capacity constraints. COASTER 699 will depart 60 minutes following the end of the game and COASTER 697 will depart at 11:15 pm as scheduled.

How does it work?
Check the schedule, hop on, and show the Amtrak conductor any valid COASTER fare media such as a monthly COASTER pass, RegionPlus Day Pass or round-trip or one-way COASTER ticket.
Where do these select Pacific Surfliners stop?
Thanks to an agreement between North County Transit District and Amtrak/Caltrans, the 6 select trains will stop at all 8 COASTER stations.
What about the Sorrento Valley COASTER Connection shuttles?
The SVCC shuttle which operates weekdays will connect to the northbound Pacific Surfliner which arrives at the Sorrento Valley station at 8:51 a.m.
What if I want to ride one of these 6 select Pacific Surfliners beyond Oceanside?
Passengers who wish to continue on one these special Surfliners beyond Oceanside may buy the appropriate Amtrak fare online at www.AmtrakCalifornia.comwww.Amtrak.com, through theAmtrak mobile app, at a Quik-Trak ticket kiosk or any staffed Amtrak station.
Are the rules and policies the same on COASTER and Pacific Surfliner?
No, there are differences in the policies. All Amtrak policies apply on Amtrak California trains. Complete policy information is available at www.Amtrak.com/policies or by calling 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245).
Can I bring my bike on board?
Yes, however you will need a reservation. COASTER tickets are not valid for reserving or transporting bicycles on Pacific Surfliner trains. The purchase of an Amtrak ticket is required to secure a bicycle reservation. Details are available at www.Amtrak.com/bring-your-bicycle-onboard.
How long will the trip take between Oceanside and Santa Fe Depot on one of these select trains?
It is anticipated that stopping at all COASTER stations will add about 10 minutes to the end-to-end travel time, making the entire trip about an hour.
Are there any blackout dates?
Yes, this service will not operate on the Wednesday – Sunday of Thanksgiving week or the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Del Mar Races Opening Week.
Why are NCTD, Amtrak and Caltrans offering this program?
It is a very cost-effective way to add more rail service for our customers without the expense and scheduling issues of adding more trains or crew members. With the support of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), NCTD will pay Amtrak $4.28 for each passenger who rides one of these select trains. Remember, you will not pay any more to ride these trains – simply present any valid COASTER fare media and enjoy your trip!
