-FIRST SELECTION QUESTIONS-
This contest has now ended; thank you for your participation, and feel free to visit our questions for the August 2016 book club selection.
User the code "15W5487" to obtain a 30% discount for purchasing Railtown at UC Press.
With every month's book club choice, TransportiCA will also provide three questions based-upon the selected reading. If you send us all three correct responses by the end of the month, and your name is drawn, you will win a copy of the book, personally signed by the author.
To inaugurate TransportiCA's Book Club, we have selected Railtown: The Fight for the Los Angeles Metro Rail and the Future of the City, by Berkeley & UCLA law professor, Ethan Elkind, J.D.
The contest questions for this month's selection are:
1) With the defeat of Measure A in 1974, Mayor Bradley explained residents received this item in the mail the weekend before the election, which had a major effect on the outcome.
2) When Tom Bradley was first elected Mayor of Los Angeles in 1973, he made a promise that he would have a rapid-transit system in construction how many months after taking office?
3) LA County Supervisor Baxter Ward created what transit proposal, later defeated by county voters, and modified later under a new name and scale?
To send-in your responses, submit them via TransportiCA's "Comment Form" on the front-page (bottom left), sending your name, email address and answers. The deadline for submission is Sunday, 31 July 2016 at 23:59.
Thank you for your interest in the book club, and best of luck with the contest!
