The Obama Administration is lending its support to the second-annual Smart Cities Week. The White House, which kicked off last year's inaugural event by announcing a sweeping smart cities initiative, says it will again bring leaders together to discuss new steps to help cities thrive.
The Smart Cities Week program, which has been developed with the dedicated help from our program advisors, will feature over 150 speakers who will discuss their vision for the future of cities with connectivity, sustainability, climate change mitigation and resilience and compassion towards disadvantaged communities in mind.
Over 75 cities across 40 states were represented last year, with over 1800 attendees from even more cities expected this year! New cities that signed up this week: Cities of Chicago, West Sacramento, Austin, West Hollywood, El Paso, Chula Vistaand more.
The first day of Smart Cities Week will be filled withworkshops that are FREE to attend for all delegates. Choose from topics like: Utilities Advancing Cities: A collaborative workshop for identifying gaps and next steps, Managing Potential Chaos in Smart City IoT Deployments: New York City's Smart+Equitable Guidelines, Smart Cities Readiness and more.
An impressive list of CTOs, CIOs and other senior city representatives have already confirmed as speakers at Smart Cities Week, and this list is growing every day. We are proud to announce thatMinerva Tantoco, CTO for the City of New York, and Archana Vemulapalli, CTO for Washington, D.C. will be joining our opening panel.
