TransportiCA Note: As many in the transportation industry celebrate the 60th anniversary of the National Interstate and Defense Highways Act, NHTSA's latest annual publication of motor vehicle crashes and fatalities is a reminder of the dangers our current dominant transport mode presents to motorists - and even non-motorists, as well as, reaffirms the imperative need for us to move fast to a multimodal and environmentally-friendly transportation system.

Motor vehicle travel is a major means of transportation in the United States, providing an unparalleled degree of mobility.
