Planetizen: Announcing TOD Certification Program

Transit Oriented Development Institute
Announcing the Transit Oriented Development Certification Program!
Rating System
The Transit Oriented Development Certification is a national project evaluation and endorsement program to highlight exemplary projects showcasing TOD best practices.
The Certification process allows developersmunicipalitiestransit agencies, and others to submit projects for official review and rating.
The goal of the program is to give national and international recognition to visionary projects to help accelerate TOD best practices and advance the next wave of Transit Oriented Development across America and around the world.
Feedback from the developer of the program’s first certified project:
"In a rapidly growing metropolitan community where place-making is critical, the TOD Institute's recognition was paramount in bringing attention to the fact that the metro rail system had come of age and that it further needs to be fortified with appropriate development around the core metro rail stations."
--Brent Reynolds, President, NP-International (Paseo de la Riviera developer)
