The AASHTO Bookstore has begun selling its 2016 Survey of State Funding for Public Transportation, an electronic publication that provides a state-by-state snapshot of investments in public transit systems from federal, state, and local funding sources.
This annual report, which is based on 2014 data, includes numerous tables and charts to help the reader understand the different funding and tax mechanisms states employ to support both transit operations and capital investment projects.
The 217-page transit survey report is available as a downloadable PDF document at a price of $10 for AASHTO members, $13 for nonmembers.
The PDF allows purchasers to print their own copies or view the pages at their computers, and share them – one viewer at a time – with co-workers through the individual password linked to each PDF purchase.
This reference report was prepared under the direction of the AASHTO Standing Committee on Public Transportation. Its introduction notes that it is considered by the transit industry and other groups as one of the most comprehensive sources on the ways states fund their transit systems.
